Today we have something very special, an episode of Dragon Ball from the series' infancy! Captured from betamax in HiFi stereo and encoded by Dougo13 and shared with his permission.

Hey guys! Dougo13 asked me to post a question here:
“Can anyone tell me what the source of the old Kei17 files were? The Kei17 files, or at least the original series of Dragon Ball (1 – 7, and 153), thing is I’ve heard that they did not come from Beta Hifi tapes. Then, what was the source? Beta, VHS or 8mm?"
If anyone has any info on where Kei17 sourced his files, and the original file specs, please leave us a comment. Thank you.
That first post was just from the top of my head. A cursory glance at my notes reveals that 1-7 is FLAC 96KHz 24-bit and includes OPEDs but no commercials. 153 is just synced to the Dragon Box, encoded the same way as the DBOX at 448kbps AC3. As for the nature of the format, I believe they are Beta but don't quote me on that.

A little dissapointing when it comes to audio sadly. It seems some of the episodes dont even come closer to Tokai TV source of the Z ones . But thank you so much for uploading these . Maybe some of them will be better when it comes to this chapter. Nevertheless happy to see the commercials from that period when Dragon ball was brodcasted or rebroadcasted.

I'm not sure how much of these are true lossless but dbfan120 can tell you if he sees this since it's his screenshot. Basically Anything Dougo has shared plus 1-7 plus 153.
@clutchins -- mp3 copy of 153 is worthless. original available rip was ac3. mp3 will be a lossy downconversion. pointless.
1-7 should be lossless. most of 12-48 are likely from lossy ac3.
it's ac-3, the mp3 is the preview for z ep 001 , 001-007 are lossless flac even if i have serious doubt about my sources files ...... others was ac3 with commercial cut (so flac to prevent any quality loss) good to notice for the mp3 as i never switch the files in my folder , i have better audio quality for the z nep 001 so mp3 audio is deleted now thanks
my ac3 will be replaced by lpcm , as shiteatersubs do the distribution will get the same stuffs as you at the same time , so everyone should enjoyed them
Off topic but seems like Netflix and Amazon are streaming new versions of Dragon Ball/Z movies in better quality. Any chance someone can rip and share please ? Tried to find a way to grab Netflix files but flixgrab doesn't work anymore.
