Overall, R2J > R1 Discotek > PAL > R1 Viz
The original Viz release bloomed out fine detail, while the PAL release was faded and overly dark. The Discotek release is virtually identical to the R2J masters, save a bit of compression.
This encode utilizes a combination of R2J video where available and the rereleased Discotek R1s with corrections to eliminate blended frames, dot crawl, rainbowing, and chroma bleed. The R2Js included native uncompressed PCM Japanese audio which was compressed to FLAC for EP1-10. New subtitle scripts were OCR'd from the retail Discotek subs & QC'd to fix spelling/grammar errors, along with added OP/ED karaoke, and typset and retimed signs.
DVD extras added, including some supplementary materials ripped from the original Viz R1 release that are missing from the Discotek package.
Thanks! And for the extra stuff too.
Your flac version is 1.0.4 from 2014. There's an updated one if you want it: [version 1.3.2 October 2017](https://www.videohelp.com/software/FLAC-Encoder/old-versions)
Definitely not having that weird issue switching between Japanese to English audio and back as I did with xPearse version.
Those comparisons. I had a feeling this was the better version but been too lazy lately to do anything let alone any comparisons. The audio is definitely where the improvement was where I noticed for me.
@Mr_Kimiko How do you mean "you have no Internet"? If you wasn't connected then you couldn't write this comment here. Please upload that quickly. I need did it. Thanks :)
@bokuchan They are from the full-size R1 DVDs rereleased by Discotek.
This is to distinguished from eps 1-10 which were encoded from the R2J DVDs.
We did not have access to R2J for eps 11-15.
