I just checked out episode 1, and it looks great.
This does not appear to be an upscale, but if it is, GOD DAMN! That is damn fine work!
It's not 100% true Blu-ray 1080p quality, nor does the it purport itself to be. There are dropped frames (creating very minor, if not almost unnoticeable ghosting effects) and barely any line smoothing, but I _really_ struggled to notice them. If I have to struggle to see the degradation in quality, I'm definitely not going to notice just by watching the show for enjoyment.
Also, it looks like the audio in the previews at the end of the 1st episode are a little low and scratchy/staticky compared to the main audio in the episode.
Despite that, just sitting back and watching episode 1 on the big screen was phenomenal! I really could not tell the difference between this HD Remaster, and BD 1080p quality copy from that distance.
Once completely downloaded, this will get transitioned to our perma-seed list as the highest quality available.
Thank you for this HD Remaster release, pukidesu!
