Tae Kim's guide is dogshit. Once you start reading the A Dictionary of X Japanese Grammar book series (where X can be Basic, Intermediate and Advanced), you realize what a steaming pile of crap it is. For kanij, use Kodansha Kanji Learner's Course. For vocabulary, immerse yourself in various forms of media (books, anime, drama, movie, news, etc). Talk with native speakers.
You do not have the right to call yourself a weaboo if you don't learn Japanese. Period.

Well good thing I'm not a bit of a weeb...at least compared to all y'all.
@Denpa sorry to bother you, but I wanted to ask you more about Japanese, and I was wondering if you have a discord account by any chance where i could contact you. It's just you seem to know a lot about baby steps of the language, i was using Anki but I wanted some other stuff to know how I will continue aproaching it
>You do not have the right to call yourself a weaboo if you don’t learn Japanese. Period.
I think that is actually when you exactly have the right to do that.

A real weeaboo wouldn't learn Japanese, and being called a weeaboo is not a compliment.
I think Denpa is confused about the meaning of "weeaboo". It's not a blanket term to describe anyone who's into Japanese things, it describes a very specific crowd of people who throw around Japanese phrases and are obsessed with otaku shit but don't actually know Japanese or understand the culture, usually having a pretty warped view of their society.
