A hotheaded and slightly unspectacular kid battles it out in a traditional Japanese card game! A nonsensical, slapstick comedy set in an elementary school -- the fabulous work of a next-generation anime creator Ryoichi MORI (Peeping Life, 2008). Gigant Big-Shot Tsukasa, is the story of elementary school kids who are menko game enthusiasts and use the Gigant series of cards to do battle. The main character, Tsukasa, is a full-on menko shooting devotee, but lacks real skill. He loses when he has a clear shot at winning, puts his friends in a bad position, and is NOT a typical anime hero. Other characters include a cynical friend and parodies of characters from other famous anime. Since the late 19th century, children in Japan have enjoyed playing the card game, menko. The object of the game is to throw, or "shoot," your own card down with enough subtle technique or force to flip over your opponent's card lying on the ground.
