Couldn't let this sit stalled for nearly two months... Rushed through the encoding making some questionable decisions along the way in the few days after releasing the movies but things ended up with me not doing the subs and muxing until now... There are a few things I probably should've done differently with the encoding, but I don't care enough anymore to reencode everything after changing my mind on things.

Default subtitles from O-L but restyled with a tpp pass on dialogue to slightly improve timing and a few other fixes [O-L Restyled], as well as a mostly untouched version of the O-L subs with just the few fixes made [O-L], a Signs & Songs track derived from my [O-L Restyled] track though the styling is mostly unchanged for these lines, and the offical PGS from the Blu-ray [BD].
Video and Audio encoded from BD

Full English subtitles set to Japanese, so set preferred subtitles and audio language to Japanese/ja/jp/jpn to have Japanese audio and full English subs, or English/en/eng to have English dub and Signs and Songs subs.
Notes: Episodes 9-12 and 14-15 are actually 1920x1078 due to my decision to crop out the bottom two rows of pixels which were just black. There's unusual vertical line artifacts often that I initially decided weren't worth denoising away due to detail loss elsewhere, but in hindsight, I think denoising them away and using a lower CRF probably would have been better overall, especially since there was still some mosquito/ringing artifacts left over after denosing. I'm not too happy with how this turned out, but I don't care enough currently to bother reencoding everything so I'm just releasing it as is. Here's the worst scene example I saw of the weird vertical line artifacts and some weird light/glow/bloom blocking from the 3rd ED which I ended up scene filtering with very heavy denoising because it was just too ugly to leave after I saw it. https://slow.pics/c/LwW1j6Nu

If there are any issues, please tell me.
@solidsnake probably not with USBDs, I currently don't plan on redoing it with SPA/US BDs, only if a better BD that doesn't have the issues the US and SPA BDs have comes out. It's not impossible that I decide to use the SPA BD video and splice in the USBD OP/EDs and stuff though, but it's not something I have any plans to do right now.
I could never like this anime because Kagome, I HATE her and the entire trope of an stupid ugly girl who thinks she's a "lady" and yet acts like a fuckin ogre!
@solidsnake I could potentially do a low effort release where I just mux in the audio from the English BDs into my previous release depending on how the timing works out between the SPA and US BDs but if the timings are easy to work out I probably won't without a better BD or doing a fixed/better encoding of the SPA BD.
I'm reluctant to reencode the SPA BDs because with my newer standards I'd probably need to spend a good number of hours working out a new better filtering chain and with my newer HEVC settings standards it'd probably take about 5-6 hours per episode at the minimum to encode which over 167 episodes would tie up my PC for a lot of hours.
> "...depending on how the timing works out between the SPA and US BDs but if the timings **_aren't_** easy to work out I probably won’t without a better BD or doing a fixed/better encoding of the SPA BD..."
I just want to ask. The Movies (1-4) and Final Act all have the original OP/ED's?
Only the TV series (Spanish BD's) have altered OPs. Seems US BD's are keeping it.
Would love you to redo the TV series using US BD's as based due to keeping the original OPs.
But it's fine if you can't do it now. It is a lot of work.
Was hoping at least JPN BD's would be announce and see if they make some major improvements. So maybe that version will finally be the definitive one.
@SomaHeir redoing the original TV series is something I do want to do, but it's not something I plan to do in the immediate future, the US BD has the original songs, but tons of skipped frames from weird deinterlacing and generally worse picture quality than the SPA BD, the SPA BD however is still not great, it's pretty bitstarved causing the grain to completely fall apart at times which is one of the reasons I went with heavy denoising and static regraining in my original encode other than just being able to get a much lower bitrate. The SPA BD also had either fucked gamma, levels, or something I forget exactly, which I didn't fix in my release causing it to be brighter than it should. I also was really shit at encoding then so for many reasons I'd like to do it better, but doing it would require a few dozen hours of setting up scripts and probably near a thousand hours of encoding. Ideally I really don't want to redo the original TV series until a JP BD or another BD that isn't bad is available. I've learned a lot about encoding graining cel sources with my current project(Berserk) so I'm sure I could create a waaayyy better release than I did before.
