Thaaaaaaaaaaaanks
At 9:17 did y'all translate "haikara" as "high calorie"?
@Lyssandra Good catch. They should correct that Yeah, Haikara or "Haikkara" (ハイカラ) means mannerisms, styles, items and so on that suggest westernized appearances and way of life. It is a vogue/slang word which appeared in the 30's of the Meiji period (1897), used frequently particularly from the Taisho period to the early Showa period. You can hear the actual word used in context in Taishou Yakyuu Musume (Taishou Baseball Girls). This would fit the scene much more accurately, Kinako being from Hokkaido and all. She speaks kind of old-fashioned/back-country sometimes (I heard her use a couple of phrases I've heard in Non Non Biyori, Gin no Saji, and from best girl Ebina in Himouto! Umaru-chan) as well as being bowled over by Tokyo's "city" and perceived "western" vibe.
Yeah, that was an obvious mistake that should have been caught. Careless error by me not paying close enough attention on the QC pass. No v2 for it, but we'll make sure to fix it on the eventual BD batch.
