@martinxk, I agree! It seems that AkihitoSubsWeeklies may have changed some of their encoding settings. Some episodes of some shows are even tending to be only a slight reduction on the SubsPlease postings. But what can we the downloaders do; we get the stuff free so there is no choice, suck it up and put up with it.

No, it's this show. It often adds a bunch of intentional grain to the backgrounds, which drives up bit rates (and therefore file sizes) when encoding targeting quality. The encoding settings have been consistent.
