The monster's name might be a reference to Dogra Magra, a classic Japanese novel from the early 20th century. The plot of the story is unrelated (it's a psychological drama/detective), but the word itself is kind of like abracadabra, which could tie into the general magic motif of the show. Although the dad plot point was only mentioned in passing, Ginguiser really likes to remind us that many people are complete shitheads and it's not something to be fixed by the cast. Also, do parachutes even work at that height...?
