**Notes:**
My own encode of the ITBD. Filtering includes edgefix, rescale, denoise, deband, and regrain. This is the full version which has a 25m prologue at the start.
Astral's subs were taken from [Meakes](https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1661552) as he prepended the official subs for the prologue. Astral is just retimed/restyled official.
Further modifications were made to Astral's subs including adding the ED from Chihiro and using Chihiro's timing. Overlap dialogue styling was also added.
For both sub tracks, the main dialogue styles were restlyed to black to be consistent with my S1 release. Audio was encoded from the ITBD and USBD.
[Sub comparison](https://www.diffchecker.com/GY5J2dOo) thanks to Meakes. Chihiro had some good edits, but also some bad ones. I personally lean more towards Astral/official so I made it the default.

I'm not trying to add to the flames here but basically you found that the first season's audio was either better or more complex to warrant using lossless compression then? I agree for consistency sake using one or the other for the same series unless it's because it falls under what I stated in the first sentence.

With these Opus bitrates, that's never going to be true, it'll be fully transparent audibly. Also what is the point of using the same audio format across different releases? I don't see any merit in doing that and regardless for this movie the TrueHD actually compresses better than FLAC so at the very least I wouldn't use FLAC for the dub regardless.
@oZanderr Fair enough, I was just curious what your perspective was. I personally don't mind either way, whatever you see fit since it's your project. On a technical standpoint, yeah you're correct that it doesn't need to be the same audio format. I was just meaning since it's the same series, I'd personally keep it consistent. Not that it technically matters to do so.
I'm still failing to understand the logic behind behind using lossless audio for S1 but lossy for the movie. The whole point of using a lossy codec is to save space, so if it is indeed 'fully transparent audibly', why opt to use lossless audio for S1?
Because you could be using Opus instead as it would result in a smaller audio file that is 'fully transparent audibly'. I understand the appeal of truncating the sample size of your lossless source for your FLAC encode but if you do indeed see the merit in doing so, it makes little sense to then use Opus. And conversely, if you see the merit in using Opus then it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to truncate and dither your lossless source when you could just use Opus instead to reduce the size. Unless... you just roll a dice and choose it randomly, in which case, fair enough.
Weak response and inadequate justification presented so far for switching back and forth between lossy and lossless. Clearly, this tool has no idea what they are doing.
oZanderr is JOHNTiTOR’s alt confirmed?
@wafflescake00 says the retard who is incapable of making any decent releases and has no idea what they're talking about. I don't need any justification to choose the audio format on my own release. I simply felt like using Opus for the film and it has zero effect on your experience watching as it's completely transparent. Pipe down pipsqueak and leave my comments
Classic whataboutism at its finest.
From trying to appear sophisticated by inserting random jargon you know nothing about to “I just felt like it” for switching on the whim. Truly, you are an idiot at best. Even a monkey on the streets has better foresight than you.
Perhaps you should find another hobby, just saying.
LOL, so you are the same person who was shitting up Reza's comments. I'm truly speechless.
> From trying to appear sophisticated by inserting random jargon you know nothing about
This is completely and entirely baseless and I can confidently explain every term that I used. Feel free to ask me so I can perhaps educate you.
I also already explained earlier several reasons why I went for Opus here, but I guess you can't read so I'll elaborate further.
Format consistency across releases is a meme (literally snalding over nothing) and regardless if I used FLAC, the bit depth would be reduced.
Therefore, the FLAC tracks technically wouldn't be lossless as the higher frequencies have been altered with noise to cover quantization errors and Opus clearly isn't either.
So now I'm left with choosing between two different formats to save some space and they're both transparent regardless of equipment, on top of this, the movie encode was close to source size.
Because it doesn't matter what option I choose here as there will be no difference besides filesize, I simply just felt like choosing Opus and doing something different.
I also previously used Opus for movie releases so this can be another form of "consistency." It really all just depends on how far you want to take this consistency meme.
Never thought I would be here again, but alas; the cabal wants me to do an update or whatever because it’s fun to trigger this fool. And also, I need this to be in the lore.
“LOL, so you are the same person who was shitting up Reza’s comments. I’m truly speechless”
From here, you can already see, he is talking from his ass again. Aside from his usual bullshit (look above). Reza is a fellow lossless connoisseur whom I greatly supported among many. The discourse he’s talking about is his group of apes shitting and attacking Reza for using lossless. Never participated in one of those, since the best thing to do when a group of monkeys ran wild was to ignore it.
He (the fool) and his less than desirable colleagues tried to convert anyone they could find to adopt lossy, so the masses can get an inferior and incomplete product. Don’t let these Indian beggar dupes anyone from here on out.
