Combined with the Orange Island torrent which I uploaded 5 days ago, this makes the entire pre-Johto, "Pokémon, just Pokémon" run complete, as far as official episode releases go. As it's been a while since I uploaded them, I decided to reissue the encodes of 1-13 from Nov. 6, 2013; 14-26 from Jan. 23, 2014; 27-39 from Jan. 24, 2014; 40-52 from Jan. 25, 2014 in addition to the newer encodes.
The new encodes, starting with episode 53, were done under the influence of burnout, and are admittedly a little dirtier and larger than they should be. I have opted not to try to "improve" them as I did with the following 36 episodes but left the majority of the footage as untouched R1 DVD source (as also with the previous episodes).
I did take the liberty, both with the old batches and the new one, to on occasion "extend" episodes. For example, in the Orange Island set, episode 98 features an extended scene with Ash trying to pressure Prima into fighting him and then turning on Misty (taken from the Australian release), and episode 111 features a 2 second unvoiced extension to the outro (taken from a Japanese broadcast). Episode 26 here features a similar unvoiced extension (a fault before Misty yells at the Pokédex). In the new encodes, episode 75 features several short additions, such as Ash and Pikachu touring the city during the festivities, which are also found on the streams Pokemon.com has been hosting; the audio, and some of the video, are taken from the Australian release, and the remaining video is taken from a Japanese broadcast.
I roughly slapped Pokéraps on the first 52 episodes - not in the exact same sequence as they were originally, but something similar - and Pikachu's Jukebox on the last 36 episodes I released, which were occasionally guessed and not always correct although usually I had TV rips to use as clues for the placement of the segments. This time, I didn't need to guess (apart from 2 episodes near the beginning of the run); 3 different sources were consulted, and all agreed with each other, while disagreeing on occasion with the existing DVD release. As with the Orange Islands episodes, the correct version of "What Kind of Pokémon Are You?", with the "kick your grass" lines, supplemented by footage from Cartoon Network, is here reinstated. Even the two-episode short opening is restored, and two editing gaffes in the ending (compare the first three episodes of the Orange Islands batch, which have the Kanto opening and closing still) are corrected. Generally, though, the focus here has been on complete authenticity.
**Regarding filenames: Originally when torrenting 1-52, I named the files 01x39 etc., but forgot I had used 2-digit seasons later when I did Orange, so renamed to 1-digit here. The files are exactly the same.**
