Just so everyone knows, this isn't really the whole movie. It's in fact less than half the full length of the movie. The entire movie contains a great deal more, including the heroine's backstory (she was a normal girl until that night, upset over being alone every Christmas and how her father never took her to see her separated mother, only to be transported to Scandinavia where her father works at the company), as well as stuff about her mother (her parents didn't separate, she was devoured by a huge version of those thunder sprites, leaving not even a body behind; her father just doesn't have the guts to tell her).
