All credit for ripping goes to Makaka-91 and for subs/chapters to EdoPhantom (edomonogatari.tumblr.com).
This is a BDRemux of nyaa.iss.one/view/986258
All 3 movies, OSTs, PVs and commentary tracks present + 'atogatari' interview.
Subs from Edo release: nyaa.iss.one/view/949268 << I would recommend this one if you want a smaller size.
I changed the booklet cover scans to a higher resolution when compared to the ones in BDMV.
Makaka-91 shared them here: reddit.com/r/araragi/comments/7awjrk/kizumonogatari_limited_bd_booklet_covers_163k/
I misnamed 3 files - they are not PVs but menus, so the following:
- 傷物語 I 鉄血篇 (Kizumonogatari I Tekketsu Hen) PV [04E50D98].mkv
- 傷物語 II 熱血篇 (Kizumonogatari II Nekketsu Hen) PV [7EEC22CD].mkv
- 傷物語 III 冷血篇 (Kizumonogatari III Reiketsu Hen) PV [58864A60].mkv
Should have been named as something along the lines of:
- 傷物語 I 鉄血篇 (Kizumonogatari I Tekketsu Hen) BDMenu [04E50D98].mkv
- 傷物語 II 熱血篇 (Kizumonogatari II Nekketsu Hen) BDMenu [7EEC22CD].mkv
- 傷物語 III 冷血篇 (Kizumonogatari III Reiketsu Hen) BDMenu [58864A60].mkv
Feel free to hate me or just rename it ^^
@kundo_kun: This is not an encode - this is a 1:1 remux of a blu-ray.
To answer your question: It is not h265 or 10bit, it is a h264/8bit.
What you are referring to applies only to encodes which would take this h264 blu-ray and re-encode it using h264/h265/8bit/10bit/etc to make it smaller.
This is exactly what SoZLuka said he is doing.
If you want the highest quality available you are in the right place but if you want almost the same quality an greatly reduced size grab one of the already available releases - for example the one I linked in the description - https://nyaa.iss.one/view/949268, the one by RH or wait for the one SoZLuka said he is doing.
Just be aware - h265/10bit does not always mean the best quality. It is true that h265/10bit can get you the better quality than h264/8bit at the same size, but it is not a absolute rule. Everything depends on the encoding settings.
Also:
@SoZLuka: Include 2.0 main audio track as well if you can. Headphone users will thank you. 5.1 sound on 2.0 speaker setup is usually an inferior experience and will greatly depend on the software used.
@Tenrag
Really? Well my headphone setup is 7.1 Virtual speaker so I'd never notice, I think. Since they're encoded already, I'll extract the 2.0 dts, convert than merge.
@SoZLuka: I am not an expert on this matter It's only what I hear myself and what I read online.
The issue I personally get is that the downmuxing to stereo always seem quieter and lacking depth or punch when compared to native stereo stream.
I have multiple lossless files with both stereo and 5.1 streams and they all seem this way. I am not talking about misconfigured output which would result in channel dropping btw.
@SoZLuka I dug a little bit deeper and my issues seem like something in downmixing configuration in pulseaudio. I did more testing and only my main linux system is affected. Playing on windows is fine. On linux I found out that I can work-around the issue by mixing tracks by hand in audacity or by making mpv do the downmixing before reaching pulseaudio.
So yeah I am on a system on which I did not fidle with audio settings and 5.1 doesnt work properly. 2.0 track in this kind of situation is a nice thing.
I have the weird noise with the audio. Sometimes when they walk there is some small strange iiiiii sound in the background. Does anyone have it? Both 5.1 and 2.0 channel. I use Sennheiser HD598 headphone. I use windows 10 and the player is MPC.
Sorry for a late response, I don't check this page regularly anymore.
I checked MPC on my windows 7 system using both speakers and headphones - I found no problems. (I was checking opening chapter of first movie when Araragi is walking to the rooftop).
I do not run malwareOS aka windows 10 on any of my machines so I can't check it.
If I had to guess what is wrong It would be that your headphones or DAC has problems handling those specific frequencies.
I can do nothing to help you. Sorry.
Try to isolate the headphones and DAC by checking on other machine using the same headphones and using the same machine with different headphones.
There's a big problem with Volume 2's Nekketsu-hen BDMV of this.
https://pastebin.com/Rbr3Jgbb
https://pastebin.com/SamXmGvK
Tried 2 methods to extract it to test if the integrity of the files are fine and those are the results. First (documented in 1st pastebin) was using eacto using MeGUI HD stream extractor. Second (in 2nd pastebin) was using MKVcleaver to extract the files (to see if a error message showed up which didn't), mux it all in MKVmerge again (once again to see if any errors and no error), then used MeGUI's HD stream extractor again and found errors.
Tried to Force recheck the torrent file also to make sure it got all the bits no go. That usually works for me when downloading BDMV's but not in this case. It should look like the pastebin below without the <warning> errors. Maybe this is what the guy above, hung4444, was referring to. Can you see if this issue is at your end too when extracting? Since maybe there was an error when muxing this as looking through the BDMV contents of this volume Aniplex split it into 3 parts which is weird since they didn't do that with volume 1 and 3.
All I can do for now is redownload the file again to see if I just didn't get a defective file otherwise getting the original BDMV you put up here https://nyaa.iss.one/view/986258 and hope that one doesn't have errors too tho it's going to take awhile (5 kb/sec, 7.5 weeks eta) before that one gets done with low seeds which is to be expected.
Volume 1's Tekketsu-hen movie had no issue https://pastebin.com/U69Qbcyb
Haven't downloaded the 3rd movie yet nor Atogatari. All 3 volumes that contained the extra stuff in the PV folder extracted 100% fine.
bah gonna just settle for Edo's release instead. For those that may not know, the US BDMV PGS file syncs fine with volume 1's BDremux of this and in my opinion are better but it misses a few signs. Get them from [RH] off AnimeTosho. There's been no PGS file for the last movie yet.
Kizumonogatari I Tekkentsu-hen https://animetosho.org/view/rh-kizumonogatari-tekketsu-hen-bdrip-1080p-5-1-ac-3.n900025
Kizumonogatari II Nekketsu-hen https://animetosho.org/view/rh-kizumonogatari-ii-nekketsu-hen-d7b03cf3-mkv.d39637
@noZA_ I verified my files just in case and found no checksum mismaches (neither on torrent level nor on the file system level)
If you want to extract the tracks then I recommend using either mkvextract from MKVToolNix or ffmpeg, I had no issued extracting the tracks using either.
Also:
Instead of re-downloading you could check control sums manually:
"傷物語 II 熱血篇 (Kizumonogatari II Nekketsu Hen)/傷物語 II 熱血篇 (Kizumonogatari II Nekketsu Hen) [7FB950D2].mkv" file:
crc32: 7FB950D2 (it's in the file name)
md5sum: d663083169d06a7e457584f4e56c62f7
or sha1sum: 01ee1a56c68c795285cacbabb8acbc916c4867ca
About the problems you encountered:
The frame count warnings from your logs are plain wrong (thogh they may be pointing to another issue):
The muxed file has a total of 98184 frames
3 parts from BDMV - 00000.m2ts, 00001.m2ts and 00002.m2ts have: 20784, 27912 and 49488 frames respectively.
Those sum up to 98184 - same as the muxed file. So no missing frames
Your logs seem to indicate over 1300 missing frames - that would equate to almost a minute of footage, but again sum of lengths
of BDMV parts seem to mach the muxed file - 01:08:15 for the sum of parts and 01:08:15 for the muxed file.
The 3 second interval of the missing frames is suspicious though, maybe there is an issue with timestamps after merging the parts.
Or maybe some header data got lost. I will need to do more testing and dive into doom9 forums. This may take more time though.
@noZA_ I found the cause: The timestamp scale was off. As far as I understand it may have caused an audio/video desync of less than 0.001 second. (But it would be so unnoticeable that I cannot verify if it is indeed the case)
With that fixed eac3to no longer produces video gap warnings you experienced. ( it turns out eac3to works well under wine btw. )
I will do a V2 with fixes when I have more time.
Since the initial release Edo updated the subs (https://nyaa.iss.one/view/1073285) and I could fix the file name error I mentioned in the first comment as well.
About PGS subs: I had them when I was muxing this the first time but just as you said there is no PGS file available for the 3rd movie.
I do not know why - maybe no-one ripped US version until now.
Without consistent subs for all 3 I decided to use Edo subs. It would feel 'off' if the translation style changed during a 3-movie marathon.
If at the point of doing V2, subs for the 3rd movie are available I will include them.
Thanks for verifying. I knew I wasn't tripping as my usual methods work but no matter what I did it was no good, so I was convinced it wasn't at my end. I decided to forget getting Edo release (which I still got it but deleted it) and just try to get the Nekketsu-hen BDMV off your https://nyaa.iss.one/view/986258 and once it got done with all 3 m2ts files and extracted them as mentioned in my steps above it went 100% fine no issues.
I also got the Vol 3 Reikettsu-hen movie and the Atogatari off this torrent and they went 100% fine no errors, so the only issue with this is Nekketsu-hen.
Perhaps doing a patch of Nekketsu-hen might be enough to fix it or something and place it in the description box so you wouldn't have to redo the torrent if that's something you don't really wanna do. I think there's a gui where you can use the faulty Nekketsu-hen with the fixed one and it'll make the patch off the diffeence. I remember doing it once long ago myself and it worked out well but that was for .ass script fixes.
I can't say I like Edo's v2 as he/she decided to add old English to Shonobu's speech when she talks normal in the Japanese dub so the PGS file is the way to go for me in that respect but I can understand about consistency. It's weird nobody has shared the 3rd volume's PGS file as the US release has been out for a while now. I'll even take the .vob sub version of it and if I even had a BD drive I might of done it myself and shared it.
Thanks for keeping this seeded for so long on both of your torrents.
Patch file for Nekketsu:
https://mega.nz/#!nfxFnQaD!b3Ka2NdP132gxXPnFK2BTNINh7l4fL3RZkz4qcyuQ5o
Apply with xdelta3 - for example by running this from command line (GUIs are for scrubs):
'xdelta3 -d -s "傷物語 II 熱血篇 (Kizumonogatari II Nekketsu Hen) [7FB950D2].mkv" nekketsu.crc.7FB950D2.to.82336E2A.patch.file out.nekketsu[82336E2A].mkv'
Windows should be similar.
Verify crc32 of both files to be sure.
It's not like I don't want to do V2/redo the torrent, I feel that I should and want to but time is scarce.
While preparing it I will need to check other files (and verify those new Edo subs) but I didn't want to keep you waiting for a potentially slow download to finish. The patch above should allow you to use eac3to without warnings.
Also: A pro-tip from MKVToolNix (mkvmerge) devs: https://gitlab.com/mbunkus/mkvtoolnix/wikis/Appending-files-vs.-adding-as-additional-parts
Instead of merging .m2ts files use a playlist file - in this case you want BDMV/PLAYLIST/00000.mpls along wih 3 .m2ts files in their appropriate directories.
Unfortunately I am a scrub and need the gui cuz I have no clue what you just wrote with regards to the patch. Maybe if that guy above with the audio issue may see it along with any others that got this torrent and fix their copy.
Thanks alot for the tip. I had no idea I could do that with mkvmerge and BDMV playlist. I always found extracting the chapters a pain in the ass having to write them down when it wouldn't work in eacto now I don't have to do that anymore and do it through mkvmerge. That's awesome saving time.
Feel free to do a v2 anytime man if you want. I been getting the BDMV's off your other torrent thanks to your tip decided to fully get the others too. And no issues with them at all with only Reikettsu-hen and Atogatari left. Should probably make a note in your v2 and let people know if they got your v1 to get the patch to fix and maybe another patch with the v2 stuff after that,
